Dr. Jeffrey A. Sklar is a board-certified, nationally-acclaimed dermatologist and cosmetic surgeon known for his innovative techniques and skills in liposuction, Botox, wrinkle fillers and more. He founded the Center for Aesthetic Dermatology in 1988 and leads an outstanding team of physicians and staff dedicated to offering the best in comprehensive skin care.

With a 30 year affiliation with the Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons, Dr. Sklar holds the academic appointment of Clinical Assistant Professor, instructing residents in cosmetic surgery in addition to his private practice. He also holds staff privileges at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and Northwell Syosset and Plainview Hospitals.

Dr. Sklar graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from SUNY Stony Brook before completing his medical degree at the Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. He then completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the University of California at Irvine Medical Center and a residency in Dermatology at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital.

Dr. Sklar’s board-certification, experience and involvement have earned the distinction of a Fellow in the following organizations:

He also holds membership in the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, American Society of Liposuction Surgery, Nassau County Medical Society and the Long Island Dermatologic Society.

Dr. Sklar has often been invited as a guest lecturer at several symposiums and society meetings discussing advances in liposuction and cosmetic surgery. His work has appeared in leading medical journals, as well as in the mainstream media. With expertise in many popular services, Dr. Sklar has been featured in countless media outlets, including appearances on the “Today Show”, “Dateline” and “Extra”, and other programs on NBC, ABC, FOX, CNBC, MSNBC and the Discovery Channel. He has been quoted in numerous magazines, including Allure, Self, W, Mirabella, Harper’s Bazaar, Newsweek and Time.

Dr. Sklar’s extensive resume and dedication to service contribute to his inclusion in the prestigious Castle-Connolly list of the “Best Doctors in NY” every year since 1999. He has also been recognized as the top Botox injector on Long Island and is certified to train other providers on proper Botox techniques. His volunteer work, support for the community and teaching earned Dr. Sklar a citation from President Bush.

We are excited to welcome Wendy Essenburg, PA-C to our dermatology team. Wendy is an experienced Dermatology Physician Assistant with more than 22 years in healthcare, specializing in medical and cosmetic dermatology. She provides comprehensive skin care including full body skin exams, biopsies, excisions, and cosmetic treatments such as Botox, fillers, chemical peels, and laser procedures.

Wendy earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Stony Brook University and is dedicated to providing personalized, compassionate care to help patients achieve healthy skin.

Isabelle is a licensed aesthetician and licensed tattoo artist working alongside our dermatology team to support your skin health journey. She specializes in customized facials, paramedical tattooing, and permanent makeup, with a strong focus on restoring confidence, enhancing natural features, and improving overall skin health. She is passionate about educating and guiding clients with proper skincare recommendations so they can achieve healthy, lasting results both in and out of the treatment room. She is also continuing her education to complete my RN degree, allowing me to provide informed, compassionate care.
